Kuhn Rikon – the name stands for a family business firmly rooted in its region and now in its fourth generation. It also stands for high-quality cookware and innovative kitchen gadgets that are sold worldwide.
Since the company was founded in 1926, social responsibility (e.g. taking in Tibetan refugees in the 1960s, setting up our own pension fund before the BVG was introduced, etc.) has been a high priority for us. It is central to our philosophy to offer our employees a working environment that supports them and in which they feel comfortable.
We remain committed and continue to fulfil our social responsibility not only out of tradition, but also out of conviction. Only with motivated, healthy and loyal employees and an inspiring working environment can we master the diverse challenges of the future and achieve economic success.
HEALTH AT WORK
Since 2009, we have been the first company in the canton of Zurich to hold the Friendly Work Space quality label, which recognises our ongoing efforts to promote the well-being and health of our employees.
BSCI
Since the beginning of 2022, we have been a member of the BSCI - Business Social Compliance Initiative. The BSCI supports our suppliers in ensuring the protection of workers' rights.
YOUTH DEVELOPMENT
Supporting learners is firmly anchored in our corporate strategy. With practical projects such as LIFT and career guidance services, we help young people get started in their careers and are actively committed to high-quality training in the retail sector.
GENERATIONS & CAREER PROSPECTS
We promote the employability of older employees and strengthen intergenerational exchange through measures such as excursions and reintegration programmes. We open up new perspectives for experienced professionals and counteract the shortage of skilled workers.
ARGO FOUNDATION
Since 2001, we have been working with the ARGO Foundation in Chur, which assembles blades for us and packages our products. This partnership stands for the highest quality, social integration and the targeted support of people with disabilities – a valuable contribution to our community.
WIELANDLEBEN
The association wielandleben offers sheltered work and living spaces for people with mental or cognitive impairments on a farm in the Emmental region. Kuhn Rikon supported the crowdfunding project to renovate the kitchen with high-quality cookware.
TIBET-INSTITUTE
Since 1968, we have supported the Tibet Institute Rikon as an important centre for Tibetan culture and intercultural exchange. Our long-standing partnership underscores our commitment to social responsibility and cultural diversity.
PRO INFIRMIS
Pro Infirmis works throughout Switzerland to promote equality and participation for around 1.8 million people with disabilities. As a long-term partner, Kuhn Rikon supports a wide range of projects that enable people to live independently – because for us, accessibility does not stop at the kitchen door.

As part of their sustainability strategy, the two traditional Swiss family-owned companies Eberhard Unternehmungen and Kuhn Rikon are joining forces to actively reduce CO2 levels in the air with an innovative climate protection project.
