UPDATED DESIGN: The tabs on the underside are made of stainless steel and not plastic.This valve housing fits models made May 1998 through the present (except Duromatic® Top & TIMAX models). It functions as the steam deflector and clips into place over the valve cap. When you remove this part for cleaning, slip your fingernails (using two hands) just under the rim of the housing on opposite sides of the rim-circle, you can then pull it straight upward to remove.The protection cap is compatible with all DUROMATIC models, with the exception of DUROMATIC® Top, DUROMATIC® Brinox and DUROMATIC® Timax.
